Components of a Madibaist.

Hello again.

Hope you are all well.

Previously in the first publication of my blog I tried to introduce you to Madibaism and hope that what was covered therein was to your satisfaction, however, if you should feel that you need to know more, please, don't hesitate to contact me at jabulaninzi@gmail.com or through the comments box below. Also, the subject of Madibaism is covered more in my book titled Nelson Mandela: The Rise of Madibaism and is available at the link at the end of this blog.

With that said, today I want to focus on the components of Madibaism and how to become a Madibaist.

It's without doubt that prior to his imprisonment, Nelson Mandela was an intelligent person but without doubt, he was not so much of a genius. A genius is someone with exceptional intellectual or creative power. The fact that Madiba was an intelligent person is evidenced in his speeches, more especially the famous one he gave before he was sentenced to prison.

A genius always seek comfort and attention in what they are doing or have created and Nelson Mandela had created an untenable situation for himself which didn't bring him comfort. His intelligence landed him in prison and that uprooted his entire life including that of his family and relatives not to mention friends. Notwithstanding that, the whole country became an uncomfortable place to live in for the majority of the people including the white people who lived in fear of him even when he could not harm them because he was subdued.

An intelligent person lives in a state of haughtiness which often conceals ignorance to life itself. Many people languish in this delusional state of mind until they die. It must be remembered that death is an eventuality that every human being must undergo at some point in their lives. We are all going to die someday. Most intelligent people behave as if they are immune to death which in itself is an indication of ignorance.

I have had the opportunity to sit with Professors and had conversations with people that possesses Ph.D's and were left uninspired and empty by what came out of their mouths and realised with shame as to how ignorant they were and how little they knew and yet how intelligent they were in their field of study. Many intelligent people believe that they are better than others because they have been decorated with many certificates and yet they are so ignorant to the world just like a child that believes in the tooth fairy.

I have also had the opportunity to converse with people that have never set foot in any school and yet found them to be brimming with knowledge and wisdom that intelligent people will never have. I believe that education teaches people to be ignorant, however, with Mindful Teaching=Mindful Learning which is Madibaism's approach to education, educational institutions could produce better learners and students who will change the world into a better place. A wise person always gives wise counsel when asked for it and an intelligent person always think that their counsel is good for you and that is what you need and deserve.

As I mentioned before, Nelson Mandela went to prison as an intelligent person and came out after 27 years as an enlightened person. Enlightenment is a state of mind that 99% of the more than 8 billion people of this world would never achieve thanks to my book, people can now learn more about enlightenment from the book.

All in all, wisdom and enlightenment are components of Madibaism. A Madibaist is the adherent of Madibaism and can be a politician, police official, a doctor, nurse and everyone who considers others first and will not take a bribe in order for them to help the less unfortunate. Many people, especially those that are implicated in the State Capture Inquiry in South Africa will die a pitiful death and their funerals will be attended by their ilk and those that want to ensure that they are really dead. They will never be remembered and no street or government building will be named after them and their legacy will be scorned forever and history will judge them harshly.

I want to emphasise this point, a few people will achieve enlightenment in their lives but my book seek to change that. It would be proper for me to first explain what the terms intelligence, wisdom and enlightenment are so that the reader can have a clear insight as to what is it that I am talking about.

  1. Intelligence.
It is the ability to learn or understand or to deal with new or trying situations. It is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.

The common denominators of the term intelligence are the words 'ability to' and 'learning' and 'acquiring ,' however, learning means acquisition of a new knowledge. The saying 'you learn by mistake' means that in order for one to acquire a certain skill or understand something, they first have to make a mistake in order to apply the knowledge acquired from making such a mistake in order to deal with new or trying situations.

2. Wisdom.

a. Accumulated philosophical or scientific learning, good sense. Ability to discern inner qualities relationship.

b. The quality of having experience, knowledge and good judgement.

Many people confuses intelligence and wisdom to mean the same thing. The definitions of wisdom above sets them far apart from each other. Whereas they both have psychological connotations, wisdom is not intelligence but the accumulated learning through experiencing which makes a person to be able to discern and make a good judgement.

Wisdom takes time through learning and experiencing and accumulating intelligence. However, being intelligent does not necessarily make a person wise. Some people may study and have Ph.D's which will endow them with intelligence yet still lack wisdom. Whereas some people may never set foot in a classroom and lack intelligence and still possess wisdom gained through experience. The saying that 'experience is the best teacher' simply defines wisdom.

3. Enlightenment.

Enlightenment is defined as freed from ignorance and misinformation.

a. Based on full comprehension of the problems involved.

b. Having or showing a rational, modern and well informed outlook.

'Freed from ignorance and misinformation' sums it all up. However, for the sake of clarity, enlightenment will mean that from gaining intelligence, a person is bombarded with various information throughout their lifetime. Some of this information they will forget in time but that does not mean they have lost it. This information gets stored in their brain and forgotten. It may be triggered back to memory by some events occurring in their lives.

Throughout their journey of acquiring intelligence, a person will get informed and misinformed; educated and miseducated; learn and unlearn. The retention of what they have learned makes them susceptible to gaining wisdom or foolishness. Striving for wisdom is a honourable thing but becoming foolish is one of the saddest things a person can ever achieve because there is no cure for foolishness. There are health facilities for mental illnesses but unfortunately there is no facility that treats stupidity or ignorance or foolishness.

Wisdom can lead to enlightenment but is not always the case. Enlightenment can be accidental. Although all persons can achieve enlightenment, a few people in history have managed to achieve this state. There are many factors that make this impossible but in most cases, religion has been singled out as the dominant factor in rendering people with ignorant state of mind. In my book I discuss further on how people can unshackle themselves from such a bondage of ignorance. Television also play a role in paralyzing people's minds.

As I mentioned above, enlightenment is accidental and that means something must happen to a person in order for them to be set on the journey to enlightenment. The truth is always glaring at us and we choose to ignore it because we are forever being misinformed. In contemporary media we read about 'fake news.' We live in a fake world where everything is manufactured for us.

The journey to enlightenment is very long and perilous but extremely rewarding. A person who sets on this journey will have all the riches that they aspire for in the universe. Enlightenment can make the world come to the aspirant and when the time comes, to enjoy. An enlightened person does not ask to be respected but respect gets bestowed upon them. The opposite of enlightenment is ignorance. Ignorance is what most people have been condemned into by a few  who benefits immensely from such a state of affairs. Ignorance is a painful state of mind.

I  don't believe that as a child, when his teacher asked him what he wanted to become as an adult, Nelson Mandela could have answered that he wanted to be a famous prisoner. Being arrested, tried in court and eventually sentenced to jail for life occurred accidentally in Madiba's life. Perhaps Madiba, like other struggle stalwarts had thought that they could quickly win the battle against the enemy or die trying.

Enlightenment leads to glory whereas ignorance condemns as I have mentioned before. Enlightened people have their names etched in the books of history. Being in jail for 27 years triggered Madiba onto the path of enlightenment. Unfortunately for Madiba, he may not have known that he was on such a journey and he might not havehttps://www.amazon.com/Nelson-Mandela-Madibaism-humanist-emancipation/dp/1719822107 known that he was an enlightened being. Knowing how humble Madiba was, he probably would have dismissed my assertion that he was an enlightened being. That Madiba was an enlightened person can never be disputed. He is the modern Buddha far from the Jesus Christ of Christianity.

Now that I have distinguished a #Madibaist from ignorant people, what state of mind do you find yourself in?

Next time I see you I will discuss Madibaism and culture because September is Heritage Month in South Africa.

In the name of Madiba be blessed.
